How
to do it.Part of this webquest is individual work, and part of it
is team work. Read the process below very carefully to know which parts
have to be made individually, and which parts have to be done with your
partner.
Be sure you make clear arrangements about the division of the task.
1/ Answering the questions. (individual)
- Search on the internet, using the
Resources, to find answers
to the 10 questions on the 4 festivals/concerts.
- Download the worksheet on the same page (right-click 'Save
target as / Doel opslaan als') and answer the questions.
- Hand in the worksheet with your answers. (arrangements
for this are made in class)
2/ Your festival/concert. (team work)
No specific websites are needed here. You are free to use any site you
wish.
- Think of a style that your festival/concert will fit in. (indoor,
outdoor, music style, ...)
- Is there a special reason for this concert/festival (fundraiser,
awareness, memorial, ...)
- Think of a name and a location for the festival/concert.
- Create a setlist: who will perform, what songs will they play,
at what time will they start and finish. You may want to check out
the Rock
Werchter site for some ideas.
- For every artist/group you write a small motivation (±50 words)
why you want them in your festival/concert. You can write it at the
end, or in between artists.
- Search the internet to find pictures/illustrations of your
artists to include in your project. For this search you can use
Google images or you can use other sites of your choice.
- You use MS Word to write your text.
- A good lay-out is as important as the quality of your text
- Use the Word-skills you've learned in your Computer-classes.
3/ The festival grounds. (team work)
- Draw a plan of the festival/concert ground on a blank A4-sized
paper (without pre-printed lines or
squares).
- Make it as detailed as possible.
- Include the stage, the backstage area, the entrance(s), VIP-area?,
the toilets, food stalls (hamburgers?, pizza?, salads?, ...),
drink stalls (alcoholic?, non-alcoholic?), stalls with drink
and food vouchers, merchandise stalls, ticket sales, camp site?,
first-aid tent, ...
- The most important quality of this plan is neatness.
- Work with care, use different colours.
- Be creative and imaginative.
4/ The promo poster. (team work)
- It's important to attract loads of people. A good promo poster
will do that.
- Compose a good, effective promo-poster to put into shops'
windows or on streets' billboards.
- Use a blank A4-sized paper (without
pre-printed lines or squares).
- Don't forget: name, date, venue, area, ticket price, names of
important bands, pictures, ...
- Again... the most important quality of this plan is neatness,
work with care and use different colours, be creative and
imaginative.
5/ The Complete Project
The Complete Project holds these items: the individual part and the
teamwork part.
- answers to the 10 festival/concert questions. (handed in
before work on the festival/concert can start)
- a MS Word document explaining the festival/concert, with title,
names, songs and pictures
- a graph of the festival/concert ground
- a promo poster advertising the festival/concert
